How to determine the wear of your mountain bike brake discs?

MTB disc brakes wear down the pads but also the discs over time. It is dangerous to ride with an overly worn disc, as it could fail during intense braking. Regularly check the wear of your discs and replace them if necessary to ensure optimal safety.

The maximum wear value for an MTB disc is approximately 10% of its initial thickness, but it is recommended to refer to the specific information provided by manufacturers for each model.

For our BLACK RIDER discs:

6-bolt discs: New: 1.8mm | Wear 1.5mm or 17% max
